Chen`s Chinese Food Restaurant in Albuquerque

We have been eating at Chens for over 10 years. We haven't been eating out because of the pandemic. Yesterday we decided to treat ourselves. It did not taste the same at all. The food was okay but not great. They packed the box and put a heavier box on top smashing all the food. Sauce all over the floor of the car. We specifically asked and where charged for crispy noodles and got none. I used to love the egg drop soup and it was not what it used to be. Very disappointed for $50+ spent. Next time we will go to the buffet down the street behind olive garden and pay half of we will did.

Absolutely delicious! The best Chinese food I've ever eaten, anywhere.I had the orange chicken and it had such a bright flavor, I couldn't believe it. Also the best egg rolls I've had, surpassing my previous favorite egg rolls that have lived in my memory, unrivaled, for the past 15 years.The rest of my family had other things, which I was able to sample, so I can also recommend the beef chop suet, shrimp fried rice, and beef with snow peas. Everybody in the family highly enjoyed it, and considered it the best Chinese they've had in a long time, or ever.My one criticism (and it may have been an oversight) was that in our takeout order of three entrees, they only included one box of rice. The rice was also delicious, so it would have been nice to have more. If anyone at the restaurant reads these comments, know that I would pay the same for the meal if it included more rice plus some vegetables, even if that meant less chicken.

Totally unbelievable good food. Finally a great Chinese restaurant. Had the General Tao's Shrimp. The sauce was tangy and not hot at all, and shrimp were fantastic.

Some of the best Chinese food I've ever eaten! I lived in Chicago for years, and was exposed to excellent Chinese food from Chinatown, and restaurants that have been around since the 50s. Chen's ranks among the top of those. The wok is very seasoned--and the smoky flavor of the VERY LEAN meat was great. I tried all the dishes that my family ordered, and I would've gotten any one of those. The shrimp in the shrimp fried rice was outstanding--not a trace of fishy flavor, but very fresh. I really don't know why this restaurant received anything less than five stars.

Service is always great! Orders have been done pretty quickly as well. They have great pot stickers and hot and sour soup.

Food here is great!!! Freshly made to order. They are selling face mask too for adults and children even for preschool kids. Must check it out if in need for a mask.

CFR has no veggies&chicken is sparing. Big portion of general Tsos... but with a weird coating and the smallest side rice I've ever gotten. Wouldn't repeat personally, we ended up tossing about 3/4 the Tso's. Disappointing. Largely irritated that I tipped well in person, asked for utensils because we grabbed this to avoid our kitchen. Said they were in the bag, none. I left it at 3 stars because price vs size is pretty decent.

Used to be when Chen’s was considered the go-to place for Chinese, both in food quality and care for their customers. In my opinion this all changed yesterday when I called in for egg rolls and an order of sweet & sour chicken.Over the years I have enjoyed good Chinese food in several locations and in numerous states but the chicken here was totally inedible – as if it was sitting on a warmer for a while or was microwaved. The consistency was dry, bland and it was like trying to digest pieces of burnt balsa wood.I called today to voice my concern, and a man asked me what time I could come in. Expecting that they may be intending to replace the chicken, I arrived at the determined time only to be told they were sorry. In this day of Covid, restricted travel, etc. couldn’t they just have said that when I called in earlier?I certainly won’t be patronizing Chen’s any longer. My confidence in their ability to provide quality food and service is certainly diminished!
